I am so excited about my 100 square grid math carpet. I got the idea when a speaker at a math workshop that I attended over the summer spoke about it briefly. You can purchase a carpet just like this for $300.00 on the web. I didn't have $300 to purchase it so I bought a black area carpet from the Dollar Tree for $19.99... I bought 7 rolls of lime green duct tape from Michaels for $1.99 each roll!
Students love working in Math centers and this is one of their favorite centers! They are asked to do a variety of things at this center...complete algorithms, show place values, make graphs, show commutative and identity properties, create arrays and so much more.
Just some food for thought...I think I might show this video at my 1st session!
